Half way mark! 11 days to go!

Where did my awesome energy level go? I’ve continued to get out of bed by 6:30am, but not as refreshed as I did a few days ago. I’ve been yawning a lot and feeling slightly achy, so I told myself that it would be a good idea to challenge myself in an hour session of yoga. I definitely miss being active. Not being able to work out, go for a run, or do other strenuous activities  has been such a tease. I feel like I’m getting slightly flabbier – I hope it’s not all my muscle weight that I’m losing! Yoga was, indeed, more on the difficult side and I feel that I didn’t have the strength to hold many of the poses. Uh oh.. am I getting weaker?!

Because of my intense sweets craving, this mornings fruit bowl was amazing! I don’t think I’ve found fruit this delicious before! It tasted like candy and fulfilled a sweet itch. I find it incredible how all these meals have been keeping me full so far.

I read in the Beachbody Nutrition book that our bodies get hungry because it craves natural nutrients (like greens, fruits, veggies, etc.). When one eats foods like pizza, pasta and burgers, our bodies don’t realize that we’re eating because it doesn’t contain the nutrients that it needs. While it gets you full for a while, one typically gets hungry faster because the body doesn’t consider pizza or pasta as ingredients, its just waste. Hence, one would eat more frequently and larger portions. This make absolutely good sense. And because I’ve been eating extremely healthy, my body is constantly full, despite my smaller portions. Now all I have to control is my craving level…

I’m..so..tired… of COOKING AND CHOPPING!

I had my entire evening planned out with getting stuff done around the house, but instead, what did I do? Cook my damn quinoa pilaf that turned out to be bland and mediocre… I’m not talking about a light toss and a flip to cook this thing, but a solid 1hr30 of me standing in the kitchen while my roomie and our friends were all chilling on the couch.! It takes 25mins just to make the quinoa! So much of my time and energy went into this pilaf, so you can only imagine how disappointed I was when I had to add an extra (or two) pinches of Himeleyan salt.

And once again, check out my vain cat as she walks all over the shot:
