Family: Frank Bonelli Park

Looking to venture out of the Pasadena area? Frank Bonelli Park has SO many photo opps, from big trees to the lake, and walking paths, which would give you lots of variety in your photos. Family [S] with the two teenage children had a fun time exploring the grounds, and we even got a little walk/exercise as we went relatively far into the park! What I like particularly about this park is this HUGE oak tree that’s perfect for generational photography. What better to represent a generation of families than a big tree! Going on a short walk along the

Family: South Pasadena Library

I sound like a broken record when I say this, but here it goes. One of the greatest joys in photographing newborns is watching those babies grow! I photographed [M] when she was a newborn, and 6 months have already flown by! The South Pasadena Library is one of my favorite places to photograph families. I love the patch of grass, the big shaded trees, and brick walls that gives it the Pasadena charm. My style is very journalistic, which means I love catching candid moments! [M] is such a cutie in front of the camera, just look at that

Family: Eaton Canyon, Pasadena

My favorite part about what I do is watching children grow. I have had the honor of photographing [F] and her boy since he was just one year old. On our first year, we photographed our family session at TreePeople, a gorgeous area by Sherman Oaks in the mountains. Our second year was at the Venice Canals in Venice, which made it super fun for toddler Bizzle to go up and down the bridges! This year we went to Eaton Canyon, a beautiful scenic location in the Pasadena / Sierra Madre mountains. This is a wonderful location to feel like

Cap & Gown: Pasadena City Hall

Pasadena City Hall is a fantastic location for any type of photography. Whether you’re looking to book a family, maternity or engagement session, Pasadena City Hall is a great spot! The only down side is that it gets very crowded with other photographers, so it is best to book during the week if possible. Here is a great example of a cap & gown session at this historic location. This was the first time that [S] had decided to do a photoshoot, so she wanted to make it a memorable one, such as her graduation! She chose this location because

WELCOME

I call myself a ‘people’ photographer, specializing in capturing the personalities of people through family, newborn and event photography. I’m originally German-Japanese and was raised embracing both cultures. I was raised in Japan and in many parts of Europe, until I finally settled in Los Angeles to call it my permanent home. My love for photography started at an early age. A fun hobby eventually turned in to a passion when I found joy in taking candid photos of my friends. Naturally, my love for photography turned in to a lifestyle and I was asked to photograph people’s milestones and celebrations. And so, my photography business was born in 2010.
