Family: Bailey Canyon, Sierra Madre

I love photographing families in this beautiful location! Bailey Canyon sits on the bottom of the Sierra Madre mountains, and is very walking-friendly for families with young children and older generations. With just a few steps from the parking lot, we get some nice trees with wooden benches which is a great area to begin our photo shoot. Kids absolutely love this location because they naturally love to explore! Tall trees, fun rocks that look like magic crystals, and big logs to climb over – what’s not to like? We started our photoshoot with the [Y] Family just below the

Family: At-home Newborn Session

Newborn shoots are very special. For one, I get to meet the baby before many others do, as the parents typically like to use the pictures for birth announcement cards. Second, and more importantly, because I get to hang out with an adorable newborn! This summer, I was honored to meet Mara and Carl’s baby girl, Ava. She was only a few weeks old when we captured her ten little toes, but she was wide awake for almost the entire shoot. Baby girl didn’t want to miss out on any of the fun! We had so much fun photographing baby

Family: Generation of Ladies in Franklin Canyon Park

The greatest gift of photography is capturing time. What’s even greater is when photographs are cherished for generations in the family. I was delighted when Claudia asked me to photograph four (!!) generations of the ladies of her family, ranging from great-grandma to the newest little ladies of the family. She specifically wanted this session to be a gift for Mother’s Day for her grandmother, so I knew that these photographs will be cherished. I envisioned this session to be by a large tree to represent the ‘family tree’, with all sorts of branches from the side. Luckily, we found

Family & Maternity: Pasadena City Hall

City Hall in Pasadena is one of my favorite spots to photograph families. I absolutely love the stunning architecture and the rose garden, which was luckily in bloom during our shoot! Aneesah is expecting her second child any day now, and we had some fun photographing the family, especially two-year-old, Axel! This little man was a natural poser, and he made my job easy with his beautiful smile 🙂 We were hit with some unfortunate rain during our session, so we went up the gorgeous stairs to explore the inside of City Hall. Axel loved going up and down the

WELCOME

I call myself a ‘people’ photographer, specializing in capturing the personalities of people through family, newborn and event photography. I’m originally German-Japanese and was raised embracing both cultures. I was raised in Japan and in many parts of Europe, until I finally settled in Los Angeles to call it my permanent home. My love for photography started at an early age. A fun hobby eventually turned in to a passion when I found joy in taking candid photos of my friends. Naturally, my love for photography turned in to a lifestyle and I was asked to photograph people’s milestones and celebrations. And so, my photography business was born in 2010.Â
