Surprise Proposal | LA Arboretum in Arcadia

There’s something incredibly special about capturing a surprise proposal, and this recent session at the LA Arboretum in Arcadia was no exception. The setting couldn’t have been more beautiful — lush gardens, serene pathways, and a quiet morning atmosphere that made the moment feel even more intimate. The day started with me discreetly meeting the couple at the entrance to the Arboretum. My job was to stay invisible, capturing candid moments as they strolled hand in hand, unaware of the big moment that was about to unfold (well, one of them at least!). The sunlight was a little harsh, but

Family: The Arboretum and Botanic Garden

It’s always a treat to photograph familiar faces, so I was thrilled to see the [C] Family again! Last year, we spent a beautiful afternoon at Tree People in Sherman Oaks, and this time, they joined me at the Arboretum Gardens in Arcadia. The session took place during golden hour, and the light was absolutely perfect, casting a warm glow over every moment. Throughout the session, the couple’s love and joy were so genuine, making every shot feel special. From quiet, intimate glances to bursts of laughter, the evening was filled with moments that truly captured the essence of their growing family.

WELCOME

I call myself a ‘people’ photographer, specializing in capturing the personalities of people through family, newborn and event photography. I’m originally German-Japanese and was raised embracing both cultures. I was raised in Japan and in many parts of Europe, until I finally settled in Los Angeles to call it my permanent home. My love for photography started at an early age. A fun hobby eventually turned in to a passion when I found joy in taking candid photos of my friends. Naturally, my love for photography turned in to a lifestyle and I was asked to photograph people’s milestones and celebrations. And so, my photography business was born in 2010.
