Friendship session: El Matador Beach
I kicked off the year with an incredibly powerful photography session at the beautiful El Matador Beach near Malibu. I had the privilege of photographing this amazing group of women, filled with laughter, emotion, and genuine connection. There were tears, hugs, and so much joy. We not only celebrated a milestone birthday, but also strength, unity, friendship, and female empowerment. El Matador Beach is one of the most stunning locations for photography, with its natural rock formations, ocean views, and gorgeous golden hour light. The sunset here creates such a dreamy and timeless backdrop for photos. It was the perfect way

Family: Lacy Park during Golden Hour
I recently photographed the [T] Family at the beautiful Lacy Park in San Marino, about an hour before sundown. It was a foggy day, and I’ll admit I was a little worried the fog might look heavy in the photos, but it ended up working out beautifully, as the sunlight pushed through the haze just enough to create soft, golden rays that gave the whole session a dreamy glow. Lacy Park is one of my favorite places to photograph. It’s easy for families of all ages to access, and it has so much variety to offer. You’ll find fallen leaves

Family: Colorado Bridge in Pasadena
I had the sweetest session with the [K] family at the iconic Colorado Bridge in Pasadena, right at golden hour. I absolutely love how the light hits the bridge as the sun starts to go down. The bridge lights up in the most beautiful glowing way, and we get some rays of sun beams coming through the arches. It’s quickly become one of my favorite places to photograph this season. After we do the posed images, I let families bond with one another, and we end up capturing the most beautiful, authentic moments that usually slips by in a blink

Proposal: Sunset at Griffith Park Observatory
There’s something so magical about photographing a surprise proposal, and this one at the iconic Griffith Observatory in Griffith Park was unforgettable. In the weeks leading up to the big day, the to-be groom and I exchanged emails to carefully plan every detail. We decided on a discreet location with a breathtaking view of Los Angeles, and he sent me a photo of them so I could easily recognize them. On the day of, I met them discreetly in front of the Observatory at 5:30pm, then followed at a distance as they made their way to the chosen spot. When
WELCOME
I call myself a ‘people’ photographer, specializing in capturing the personalities of people through family, newborn and event photography. I’m originally German-Japanese and was raised embracing both cultures. I was raised in Japan and in many parts of Europe, until I finally settled in Los Angeles to call it my permanent home. My love for photography started at an early age. A fun hobby eventually turned in to a passion when I found joy in taking candid photos of my friends. Naturally, my love for photography turned in to a lifestyle and I was asked to photograph people’s milestones and celebrations. And so, my photography business was born in 2010.
