Family: Lacy Park in the morning

Rocky reached out to me because he wanted to capture some special photos with his two children and his mom, while also taking some time for a few solo portraits of himself. I loved that we were able to combine both into one session! We spent the hour exploring Lacy Park, finding beautiful pockets of light, capturing family moments, and having fun along the way.

Lacy Park is one of my favorite places to photograph, and I love it both in the morning and during golden hour. The light feels different at each time of day, but there is always something beautiful to work with. For this session, the soft morning light shining through the trees gave us such a lovely backdrop for both the family photos and Rocky’s individual portraits. It was a fun way to document not only the people he loves most, but also a few photos that were just for him.

I call myself a ‘people’ photographer, specializing in capturing the personalities of people through family, newborn and event photography. I’m originally German-Japanese and was raised embracing both cultures. I was raised in Japan and in many parts of Europe, until I finally settled in Los Angeles to call it my permanent home. My love for photography started at an early age. A fun hobby eventually turned in to a passion when I found joy in taking candid photos of my friends. Naturally, my love for photography turned in to a lifestyle and I was asked to photograph people’s milestones and celebrations. And so, my photography business was born in 2010.
