Family session: El Matador Beach

I recently had the joy of photographing a beautiful family session at El Matador Beach in Malibu. With its stunning rock formations, sandy shoreline, and breathtaking ocean views, El Matador is always one of my favorite locations for family photography.

I’ve had the privilege of photographing this family since their little boy was a newborn, so it has been incredibly special watching their family grow over the years. One of my favorite parts about being a photographer is getting to be part of these milestones and capturing families as they grow and change together.

We were greeted with the most beautiful golden hour light, and the session was filled with laughter, play, and sweet moments by the water. These are the kinds of memories that make family photography so meaningful, and I’m so grateful to continue documenting this beautiful family’s story.

WELCOME

I call myself a ‘people’ photographer, specializing in capturing the personalities of people through family, newborn and event photography. I’m originally German-Japanese and was raised embracing both cultures. I was raised in Japan and in many parts of Europe, until I finally settled in Los Angeles to call it my permanent home. My love for photography started at an early age. A fun hobby eventually turned in to a passion when I found joy in taking candid photos of my friends. Naturally, my love for photography turned in to a lifestyle and I was asked to photograph people’s milestones and celebrations. And so, my photography business was born in 2010.
