It’s always a treat to photograph familiar faces, so I was thrilled to see the [C] Family again! Last year, we spent a beautiful afternoon at Tree People in Sherman Oaks, and this time, they joined me at the Arboretum Gardens in Arcadia. The session took place during golden hour, and the light was absolutely perfect, casting a warm glow over every moment.
The Arboretum provided such a gorgeous backdrop, with its lush greenery, winding paths, and charming little nooks, making it the ideal setting for both posed and candid shots. As always, I aimed to capture those classic family portraits, while also stepping back to let the children play and interact naturally with their parents. There’s something magical about watching kids be themselves—exploring, laughing, and just being joyful with their family—and those are often the moments that turn into cherished memories.
I especially love capturing the interaction between parents and their children, those little touches, smiles, and glances that tell their unique story. Watching the [C] Family enjoy each other’s company and seeing how their bond has grown over the past year was heartwarming. The Arboretum’s natural beauty and that incredible golden hour light made every shot feel timeless.
