There’s something incredibly special and intimate about an in-home newborn lifestyle session. Many new parents prefer having me come to them, especially during those tender first weeks of adjusting to life with a newborn. Being able to stay in the comfort of their own home allows everyone to feel more relaxed, cozy, and present during the session, and I bring everything needed with me to make the experience easy and stress free.
When a session includes toddlers, I always begin by photographing the toddler with the newborn first, followed by lifestyle images with the whole family. I’ve found it’s best to capture all of the toddler involved photos early on, since little ones can get tired and cranky pretty quickly. After that, I focus on photographing the newborn with the parents, and if requested, I also capture nursing images for mom. I usually end the session with solo portraits of the newborn using a simple studio style setup that I bring directly into the home.
I feel so fortunate to continue growing with the [T] family. I first photographed them when their son was born, and returning to their home to document the arrival of their baby girl was truly an honor. One of my favorite moments from this session was watching big brother gently get to know his new baby sister. Throughout the session, there was so much laughter, playfulness, and toddler energy as he jumped around and proudly soaked in his new role as big brother. Capturing the beginning of this sibling bond felt incredibly meaningful, and I’m so grateful I was able to preserve this special chapter for their family. If you’re interested in having your newborn session in the comfort of your own home, I’d love to connect with you.

Hiromi
