Maternity: Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden

The LA Arboretum in Arcadia is one of my favorite locations for maternity sessions. While it does require a $75 photography permit, it’s absolutely worth it for the variety of stunning backdrops it offers. From lush greenery to charming pathways and open spaces, every corner of the park brings something unique to a session.

We were also lucky enough to spot a peacock with its feathers beautifully rustled—it was such a magical moment and added an extra touch of beauty to an already perfect setting.

I had the pleasure of photographing the [L] family as they prepare to welcome their little one, and it was so special to capture the beginning of their journey as a family of three. They were incredibly sweet together, and you could feel the love and excitement in every moment. Paired with the soft, beautiful lighting we caught that day, it made for a truly unforgettable session.

If you’re considering a maternity session surrounded by nature and variety, the LA Arboretum is such a dreamy choice—I’d love to document this special season for you 🤍

WELCOME

I call myself a ‘people’ photographer, specializing in capturing the personalities of people through family, newborn and event photography. I’m originally German-Japanese and was raised embracing both cultures. I was raised in Japan and in many parts of Europe, until I finally settled in Los Angeles to call it my permanent home. My love for photography started at an early age. A fun hobby eventually turned in to a passion when I found joy in taking candid photos of my friends. Naturally, my love for photography turned in to a lifestyle and I was asked to photograph people’s milestones and celebrations. And so, my photography business was born in 2010.
