I love photographing families in this beautiful location! Bailey Canyon sits on the bottom of the Sierra Madre mountains, and is very walking-friendly for families with young children and older generations. With just a few steps from the parking lot, we get some nice trees with wooden benches which is a great area to begin our photo shoot.
Kids absolutely love this location because they naturally love to explore! Tall trees, fun rocks that look like magic crystals, and big logs to climb over – what’s not to like?
We started our photoshoot with the [Y] Family just below the Canyon and got some beautiful light shining through the trees.

For the second half of our photo shoot, we took a short, 10 minute walk into the hiking trail and came across some beautiful tall trees and scenic mountain backdrops. For every family photo shoot, I like to capture special moments of “just the parents”. Hey, remember those days when we didn’t have children? Let’s re-create that moment, even if it’s just for 2 minutes 🙂

My favorite part about Bailey Canyon is the variety that this location has to offer. We continued walking into the trail and found an old bridge, which the kids loved to run across. On the other side of the bridge, we found his mystical swing hanging from the trees. What a perfect way to bring some smiles and fun into our shoot!
