Event: POV.la Fall Reconnect

This past Saturday, my friend and I ventured down to a quiet, little town in SoCal called San Juan Capistrano to attend the bi-annual POV.la luncheon, where an inspiring group of women network to help each other grow professionally and personally. The intimate wine tasting event took place at the gorgeous Rancho Capistrano Winery, owned by POV.la member’s, Sylvia and her husband, whose dream it was to one day start a winery! It was so inspiring to hear about their once-dream now come to life. Love the ‘if you can dream it, you can do it!’ attitude!

Every time I attend a POV.la event, founded by Debbie Wideroe, I’m inspired by the multiple talents that each of these ladies have. Those with full-time office jobs have a hidden talent in creative outlets, or those in full-time creative fields have a talent in other areas that have little to do with their jobs. The point of POV.la is to encourage women with these multiple talents to take it one step further and simply go for it! What’s stopping you from opening up your little shop? How can others help to make your dreams come to life? Our event was filled with products that were outcomes of women who went for their dream! Cupcakes, magazines, chocolates – all so inspiring!

Ladies of POV.la all have one thing in common: we’re all go-getters and thrive to grow. Unlike other networking events, POV.la brings together women of different industry backgrounds, which can be difficult to meet in this busy town. I mean, who’s got the time?! I had the opportunity to meet fascinating women who I otherwise wouldn’t have had the chance to meet.

I take it back, we all have another thing in common: we all LOVE cupcakes!

Professional ladies can be fun as well 🙂

WELCOME

I call myself a ‘people’ photographer, specializing in capturing the personalities of people through family, newborn and event photography. I’m originally German-Japanese and was raised embracing both cultures. I was raised in Japan and in many parts of Europe, until I finally settled in Los Angeles to call it my permanent home. My love for photography started at an early age. A fun hobby eventually turned in to a passion when I found joy in taking candid photos of my friends. Naturally, my love for photography turned in to a lifestyle and I was asked to photograph people’s milestones and celebrations. And so, my photography business was born in 2010.
